It ensures the correct length is cut on the jeans eliminating the fear of cutting too short.  If I had a dollar for every person who brought me a pair of jeans they had cut on the new length position. This is a common occurrence.  The hem allowance is forgotten in the haste to get the jeans ready for wearing.

My Jean Genie has slots that must be marked and these marks are for the hem allowance.  Therefore it eliminates the mistake of cutting too short.

The next issue for most people is sewing a jean hem on their domestic sewing machine.  Again if I had a dollar for every person that said "I can not sew the jeans on my machine.  The seams are too thick".

The Jean Genie eliminates this problem.  It has marks where it can be folded, then used to raise the foot of the machine both before and after sewing through the thick seams.  And this when the hem allowance has been folded over TWICE.

Finally I show in the video how to create a professional looking stitch using my TOPSIDE sewing technique and assists in sewing over the thick seams usually associated with denim or moleskin.
