This is definitely one of the unusual alterations I have been asked to do.  A regular client of mine called up and said she had two towels that she loved, but that were way to long.  Was there anything I could do to reduce the size, but that one end had embroidery.

My thought was that the best place to shorten would be at the end without the embroidery, but after the section at the end which has tape etc on it.

1. She wanted 34 cm taken off the towels.  I folded it over at 17 cm and pinned along the ribbed section.

2. Pin along the taped edge

3. Stitch on the edge of the ribbing where it is pinned, then cut.
