Picture this.........  A white wedding dress being altered.  The dress is laying on the table ready to be marked and cut.  Someone puts a black pen on the table with the lid off.  It's one of those pens that have a fine point but have ink inside it.  The pen comes into contact with the wedding dress and it begins to soak up the ink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is a true story.  It happened in one of my shops.  And I had a policy of NO PENS ON TABLES.  We only used pencils for taking down measurements.

Us this as an example for yourself, and don't have any pens around garments.
