Maternity clothes can be made from existing pants or jeans.

Unpick the side seams and cut across underneath the zip and insert a piece of stretch fabric.  You may need to sew some elastic at the top.  It is a good idea to cut the fabric so that the top section is curve upwards to allow for growth.  So the fabric will be square on the sides and the bottom, but will be curved around at the top.  If you are using two pieces of fabric together, place them so the right sides are together and sew across the curved top.  Sew some elastic in between but attached to the inside piece.  Attach to the sides and bottom.  You now have some pregnancy pants.
