Gathering and elasticator feet for overlocker or serger
Over locker or serger gadgets which turn your machine into a time saving machine.
Your over locker or serger can be converted to do more than just over locking.
For example most older model machines have attachments that can be purchased such as the gathering attachment. It slots into a groove on the machine and gather the fabric automatically.
How it works - Cut one piece of fabric the finished length and one length three times as long. Instructions may be different with each machine, but basically for the Janome the fabric that is being gathered is on the bottom, the arm is next then the fabric on the top is the right length. The gathering volume will depend on the fabric and the differential feed ratio used. Saves a lot of time.
Or you can buy an elastic gathering attachment. The one I have only does thin elastic. The unit is screwed on and the elastic feeds through a groove and is automatically overlocked on to the garment. Great for lingerie use.

Please note that there are some over lockers that will not take the attachments although these are usually the older styles.
