Jacket sleeves shorten sleeve cap

Jackets are one of the most expensive items in your wardrobe, and are usually part of a suit.  If the sleeve has a special feature at the end such as cuffs, lace, embroidery or any other type of feature the next best option is to shorten from the sleeve cap.  THIS IS NOT A SIMPLE ALTERATION.  It takes time and effort, because the sleeves must be unpicked and the sleeve head re cut.  Do not do this alteration if the person's upper arm is thick.  Consider a sleeve.  A sleeve tapers off from the shoulder to the hem.  Shortening from the sleeve cap will make the sleeve smaller and it could get tighter at the upper arm.  However, by measuring the person's upper arm and the new width of the sleeve, you can work out if it will be ok.

An alteration shop in Australia would charge anything from $95+ to shorten the sleeve from the sleeve cap.  There are 20 separate videos, and 11 illustrations in conjunction with the Step by Step instructions in the eBook Jacket sleeves shorten from the sleeve cap.
