How to take in a singlet at the sides making sure to line up the ribbing at the top

If you place the singlet inside out under your sewing machine foot and start to sew, the ribbing will more than likely move and one side will be lower than the other.  Take in singlet at sides with ribbing and lining up that ribbing can be done very easily with a little help. Here is how I do it.

Place a dot with a tailors pencil for the amount the tee is being taken in.  Measure down the distance to the end of the take in.  Place the side under the foot of the machine, making sure to line up both sides.  Lower the needle (foot is still UP) and check that the sides are flush.  Slide the Jean Genie or something similar under the foot and lower the foot.  Sew three or four stitches then reverse to lock then stitch forward again.  Sew to end.  Top binding section should be flush.

This short video takes you through the process.
