Using an old pair of trousers to determine the length of a new pair is wrong. There are many reasons why the new trousers will not be the same length. This is a very quick video tip pinning gown floor length, without folding any fabric under. It does depend on the fabric. I would not use this method for chiffon as the pins would fall out before I got to marking and cutting. And this hem was just cut. No over locking or stitching. Happy altering Judith
